Rare bank note - Iceland, year issue - 1904. Iceland, P.10-13 Islands Banki, Unique presentation set prepared for Mr. P.O.A. Andersen, Permanent Secretary of the Danish Treasury 1899-1929. 8 colour trial specimens 1904: 5 Kroner colour trial of face in blue-grey, orange, and pale blue. 5 Kroner colour trial of back in brown and blue. 10 Kroner colour trial of face in blue-grey, orange, and pale blue. 10 Kroner colour trial of back in brown and blue. 50 Kroner colour trial of face in blue-grey, orange, and pale blue. 50 Kroner colour trial of back in brown and blue. 100 Kroner colour trial of face in blue-grey, orange, and pale blue. 100 Kroner colour trial of back in brown and blue. Each note has serial 0000 serial numbers; the 50 and 100 with five digits, the 5 and 10 with six digits. In 1904 Iceland gained home rule; accordingly the note issue was invested in the Islands Banki (Bank of Iceland) and these beautiful notes were ordered from Europe"s finest banknote printer, Giesecke & Devrient. In issued form the 5 Kroner of this the first series occasionally turns up. The 10 Kroner is extremely rare issued. Of the 50 Kroner only one issued note is believed to be known, this discovered in Scotland some years ago. Of the 100 Kroner, the serial #00001 is believed to be in the Central Bank of Iceland collection. No other issued examples of the 50 and 100 are believed to exist.
